Shingle, metal, and flat roofs across the Valley since 2011. Free inspection, photos of everything we find.
The problem
The wind lifts an edge in March and nothing happens. Then the first real rain comes through a ceiling you were not watching, and the repair you could have had for a few hundred dollars is a claim.
Most Valley roofs we replace are not worn out. They lost an edge to wind because the first course was never sealed properly.
Water gets in where two planes meet and where the roof ends. That is a membrane problem, and a cheap bid leaves the membrane out.
A stain on a ceiling is a repair in February and decking, insulation, and drywall by July. The roof is rarely the whole bill.
The difference
Scroll and watch one go on the way ours does, eave to ridge. When the next estimate lands in your hands, you will know exactly which parts are missing from it.
Plywood under everything. If it is soft it gets replaced first. A bid that never mentions the deck was written from the driveway.
Sealed membrane at the eaves and in every valley. That is where Valley rain actually gets in, not the middle of the roof.
Over the whole deck, not felt paper and not just the bottom three feet. It keeps your ceiling dry the night before the shingles go on.
A sealed first course at the eaves and up both rakes. Skip it and the first real wind lifts the edge and takes the course above it.
Six nails per shingle in our wind zone. Four is faster, four is what a low bid pays for, and four is not enough this close to the coast.
The roof has to breathe or the attic cooks the shingles from underneath and you lose years off a roof you just paid for.
What happens next
Of the stain, the missing shingles, or just your address. That is enough for us to tell you whether it is a repair or something bigger.
Usually within two days. You get every photo we take and a written number, not a range and not a pressure close.
If it is a claim we meet your adjuster up there. If it is a repair we schedule it. If it can wait a year we tell you that too.
What people say
They met the adjuster on the roof and pointed out damage I did not know was there. The claim went through the first time.
Sent a photo at nine at night and had someone here Thursday morning. It was a repair, not the whole roof, and they said so.
Explained the whole thing in Spanish to my dad, who does not do English on the phone. That is why they got the job.
Where we work
If you are inside this line we get to you, and there is no travel charge inside it.
That is usually enough to tell you whether it is a repair or something bigger. No charge either way.
